Who wouldn’t love a sweet, minty, effervescent adult beverage while watching the kids tear into their gifts? Santa’s Peppermint Mimosas are exactly what Christmas mornings call for.
What does Santa do after a long night delivering toys to children worldwide and then still having to host the Christmas party for all of the elves? He drinks a few peppermint mimosas, of course! Peppermint is known to be energizing, while the sparkling Prosecco is soothing and relaxing. Perfection.
Ingredients Needed
- Vanilla icing – this is optional, but just a tiny bit holds the crushed peppermints onto the rim of the glass.
- Peppermint candies or candy canes – I like using starlight mints for crushing since they have more minty flavor than candy canes. I also use candy canes for garnish.
- White creme de menthe liqueur – I used DeKuyper brand, but any will work. You could also use the green creme de menthe, but your cocktail will have a green tinge – which is also very festive!
- Chocolate bitters – I used Woodford Reserve. The chocolate bitters give a slight, mild chocolate taste – think of a peppermint pattie candy.
- Prosecco – I like using semi-dry or even dry prosecco since the creme de menthe is sweet.
- Candy canes – as a garnish.
Steps To Make This Recipe
This one is so easy; directions are almost unnecessary, but here it is:
- Rim the glass with icing and crushed peppermint candy.
- Add Creme De Menthe and bitters to the champagne flute.
- Top with Prosecco.
- Garnish with a candy cane.
