This healthy side dish is an easy and delicious way to eat your veggies and its ready in 15 minutes.
Broccolini is one of those designer vegetables. Kinda like the designer breed dogs, like all those “oodles” you see everywhere these days.
Developed in the ‘90s, broccolini is a cross between broccoli and Chinese broccoli – which is also known as Chinese Kale. Broccolini has a milder flavor and is less bitter than traditional broccoli. And it tastes mildly sweet like it’s Chinese broccoli parent.
Broccolini has a thin, tender, and tall stalk, sweet little leaves and smaller florets on the end. And all of it’s edible. Plus, it’s a pretty vegetable that’s perfect to eat with your fingers.
Full of vitamins A and C, it is also high in fiber and potassium. It’s a healthy choice that becomes even more flavorful, mild, and sweet when lightly cooked.
