We can’t celebrate Super Bowl Sunday without giving a nod to the Puppy Bowl! My favorite thing to do after the big game is to kick it back with a bowl of sweet, chocolatey Peanut Butter Puppy Chow and laughing at the adorable puppies on the tv screen.
This is one of those ridiculously easy, yet totally addictive recipes. All you need is a box of cereal like Chex or Crispix, chocolate chips, peanut butter, M&Ms candy, and powdered sugar.
If you can melt chocolate in the microwave and stir and shake ingredients together, you can make this wonderful dessert! It’s not only for kids, but adults love it too!
Sweet and chocolatey, this peanut butter puppy chow is the easy snack/dessert that both children and adults will love.
12-ounce bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
½ cup smooth peanut butter
12-ounce box Chex cereal (I used Rice Chex)
1 cup peanut butter M&Ms
1 pound box powdered sugar
In a medium glass, microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and peanut butter together in the microwave on low power in 30-second increments, stirring after each increment.
In a large bowl, add the cereal.
When the chocolate mixture is melted, pour over the cereal in the bowl. Toss gently to coat.
Add the mixture to a brown paper grocery bag.
Dump the powdered sugar into the bag.
Fold the top of the bag over on itself and shake vigorously until the cereal breaks apart into individual pieces and everything is heavily coated in powdered sugar.
Add the M&Ms and shake briefly to combine.
Pour into a serving bowl.
Enjoy.
