Ingredients

Scale

8 slices white Hawaiian Sweet sandwich bread

½ block (4-ounces) cream cheese, softened

1 tablespoon powdered sugar

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

4 tablespoons Nutella spread

2 eggs

3 tablespoons heavy cream or half & half

⅓ cup sugar

2 teaspoons cinnamon

Butter, for the pan

Maple syrup, for serving

Instructions

Remove the crusts from each slice of bread.  Use a rolling pin to flatten it out.

In a small bowl, stir together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.

Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on each slice of bread.

Smear a thin layer of Nutella over the cream cheese – about ½ tablespoon per slice.

Roll up the bread and place, seam side down, on a plate while you continue making the rolls.

In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs and cream until well combined.

In another shallow bowl, stir together the sugar and cinnamon.

In a large skillet, over medium heat, melt one tablespoon of butter.

Dip each roll into the egg mixture, making sure all sides are coated.

Place into the hot skillet, seam side down.

Cook until golden brown, turning then to cook on all sides, about 3 minutes per side.  Add more butter, as needed to get the rolls nicely browned on all sides.

When the rolls are done, roll them immediately in the cinnamon sugar to coat completely.

Serve warm.
