An easy, vintage recipe for Old Fashioned Russian tea mix that’s a cold weather favorite.

Ingredients

Scale

10 packets unsweetened orange drink mix (I used Kool-Aid brand)

1 cup zero sugar iced tea mix with lemon (I used Lipton Zero Sugar brand)

1 cup zero sugar lemonade mix

½ cup sweetener (I used Truvia)

1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon

½ teaspoon ground cloves

½ teaspoon allspice

Tiny pinch of cayenne pepper (optional, but adds a lovely warmth to the drink)

1 box (5.5 ounce) Red Hots cinnamon candy (optional, but fun)

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients and fold until well combined.

Spoon the drink mix into a tightly sealed container and store it at room temperature.

To make: add 1 ½ – 2 tablespoons of the mix to 1 cup boiling water. Stir until the mixture has dissolved.
