These Magically Simple Earth Day Cookies, with only 4 ingredients, are the perfect way to honor Earth Day with the kids with a delicious treat.

Ingredients

Scale

1 roll refrigerated sugar cookies (in the tube)

Green and blue gel food coloring

¼ cup flour

Heart-shaped red sprinkles

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a Silpat mat.  Set aside.

Slice the tube of cookie dough in half and place into two bowls.

Add 3-4 drops of green food coloring to one bowl and 3-4 drops of blue to the other.

Knead the food coloring into the dough with your hands or a spoon until the color is evenly distributed.  If necessary add more color, one drop at a time, until the desired color is achieved.

If the dough gets sticky, add a bit of the flour, a teaspoon at a time.

To make the Earth, scoop about 2 teaspoons of the blue dough and 2 teaspoons of green dough and start shaping then together into a ball that resembles Earth.  It doesn’t have to be exact.

Place the cookies onto the prepared baking sheet about 2-inches apart.

Bake for 10-14 minutes or until lightly golden around the edges and on the bottom.

Cool on a wire rack and store, once cooled, in an airtight container.
