You’re looking forward to date night with your sweetheart, but you need something to spice things up; you’re looking to make it saucy. And what better way to do that than with snacks and a late-night movie?
You’ve got the movie down, as well as the snacks. But there’s one teeny-tiny problem—what type of dip should you make?
Should it be cheesy (because you know, Bae loves cheesy pickup lines)? Or should it be something creamy?
If you can’t figure it out, don’t worry. We’ve got some delicious dip recipes for the date.
Hot Double Onion Cheese Dip
He’s going to love you for making this hot onion cheese dip. What we love about this dip is that it’s easy to make and doesn’t require much in terms of ingredients.
All you need to do is caramelize onions with butter in a large skillet. Add sugar and cook for a few minutes. Then, add some sherry and thyme. Follow that up by quickly adding some cream cheese, lemon zest, hot sauce, and scallions.
Let it cook for 15 minutes, and voila, you’re done!
Beet and Feta Cheese Dip
Want something that beets hummus? This is our go-to dip when we don’t want pita; we replace it with feta instead.
You’ll need a food processor for this one, though (sorry).
Add chickpeas, beets, feta, garlic, oil, lemon zest and juice, cayenne pepper, and ½ teaspoon salt into the processor and blend until it becomes a thick paste.
This dip is simple, but packs an amazing punch. You can eat zucchini fries, breadsticks, and garlic bread with it.
Spicy Spinach Dip
This one’s easy too! Add avocado, lime juice, spinach, garlic, salt, and some garam masala into the food processor. Blend until it turns into a paste. Then add the paste to some yogurt and enjoy!
What we love about this dip is that you can store it in the fridge for up to three days. You can also use it as a spread on toast or garlic bread.
