Homemade Salads to Die For

Homemade Salads to Die For

Nothing beats a good homemade salad when you’re in the mood.

Whether you’re trying to lose weight or just want to incorporate more vegetables and healthy foods into your diet, salads are the best. They’re easy to make, don’t require much preparation time, and keep you full for longer periods due to their high fiber content.

Here are two of our favorite homemade salad recipes that you absolutely need to try!

Creamy Broccoli Salad

With a unique combination of ingredients, we can guarantee that a homemade creamy broccoli salad recipe will satisfy everyone’s taste buds. You’ll need raw broccoli, red onions, raisins, almonds, a couple of slices of bacon, and some cheddar cheese. All you need for the dressing is to mix 2 cups of mayonnaise with 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and 6tbsps of apple cider vinegar. Beat the mayonnaise and sugar together with an egg beater before adding your apple cider vinegar.

Add all the raw ingredients to a bowl, and toss well. Pour the dressing on top of the salad, add the nuts, bacon, and cheese. Toss the salad well so that everything’s mixed well, refrigerate for a bit, and enjoy!

Tropical Beet Salad

If you want a salad with a more sweet and earthy flavor, we recommend trying out a tropical beet salad. All you need to do is individually wrap your beets in roasting foil, paring them with a sharp knife. Try not to roast the beets too much; otherwise, they’ll get very mushy and difficult to prepare or eat.

Add radicchio lettuce, romaine lettuce, crumbled goat cheese, and cashews. If you don’t want to use cashews, you can easily find a nut replacement for them, like walnuts or almonds. Alternatively, if you’re allergic to nuts, you can skip this bit altogether. Instead of goat cheese, you can also use feta cheese since it has a lower fat content and fewer calories.

Dress the salad with a mixture of white vinegar, Dijon mustard, minced shallot, kosher salt, black pepper, and virgin olive oil. Mix all of these ingredients together until smooth, and add on top or serve on the side. If you’re eating a salad as a main dish, you can add some grilled meat in the mix like our grilled Piri Piri chicken for an extra tang.
